What this does
JPG to PDF under 200 KB in one go: the page shares the size limit between your photos by their area, compresses each one as a JPEG to fit its share, places each on its own page and measures the finished PDF. If it is over, every share shrinks and the photos are compressed again, up to three rounds. The honest limit: thirty detailed photos cannot all look sharp in 100 KB.
A measured example
| Before | 3 JPEGs · 199.2 KB together |
|---|---|
| Limit | 200 KB |
| After | One PDF · 3 A4 pages · 187.8 KB |
When to use this, and when not
- Use it for certificates, mark sheets, ID cards, bills and photos that a form wants as one PDF under a size.
- When the form wants separate JPG files, use compress a scanned document or reduce photo size in KB.
- To edit, merge or shrink an existing PDF you need a PDF tool; this page only makes PDFs from pictures.
Honest limits
- No text recognition: the PDF holds pictures of the pages, so its text cannot be selected or searched.
- No deskew or cropping; photograph pages straight and flat.
- Up to 30 pictures per PDF.
- Your browser's JPEG encoder is used, so the same photos can come out a few kilobytes different in another browser.
Privacy on this page
The photos never leave the tab, and the PDF carries no document information (no author, no software name, no date). See is it private?
Step by step
- Choose the photos. Press Choose photos and pick up to 30 JPG, PNG or WebP pictures, or drop them on the page.
- Set the order. Drag the pages into order, or use the arrows under each one.
- Pick the size. 200 KB is set. Choose another limit, the page size and Photos or Documents.
- Download. Check the line that says PDF, pages and size, then press Download PDF.
Questions
What page size is the PDF?
A4 portrait by default, with a small margin. A4 landscape and Fit to photo (each page shaped like its photo) are one tap away, and the margin can be none. Each photo is centred and fitted to its page without cropping.
How do I change the order?
Drag a page onto another place, use the arrows under each page, or focus a page and press Alt with the up or down arrow. The PDF is rebuilt in the new order straight away.
What happens to the quality?
The size limit is shared out between the photos by their area, and each one is compressed as a JPEG to fit its share: quality first, fewer pixels only when it must. The JPEG goes into the PDF unchanged. The page list shows each photo's size, pixels and quality number.
My portal asks for 100 KB, 300 KB or 1 MB.
Pick 100 KB, 300 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB above the pages. For scanned pages, choose Documents: the paper is whitened and the pages are written in greyscale, which fits much more into a small PDF.
Can it compress a PDF I already have, or merge PDFs?
No. This page makes a new PDF from pictures. It does not open, edit, merge or compress existing PDFs.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The photos are compressed and the PDF is written in this tab. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the PDF holds no author, software or date information.
